  1. Nelson Mandela couldve done what he did bcause he did not focus on himself but the contribution he could make for the benefit of others. He left a legacy that we all can emulate. A true world icon. He did what he had to do and can now rest in peace.

  2. Great lessons from a great leader.
Nelson Mandela used many quotes and never claimed them as his own.

  3. yes, I wonder about quotes – yet
    Ecclesiastes 1:9
    King James Version (KJV)
The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
Surely our minds retain what is impressed upon them … and is it a crime to utter those thoughts? We have always to be so considerate of “plagiarism” – but how to avoid it??

    1. “There is no new thing under the sun” …

… How then does one explain the process of creation?

      “A crime to utter one’s thoughts” …

… Then we should all be in jail by now 🙂

Lindi – perhaps I’ve missed the point you are making ?

  4. Omozua A. Isiramen

I really like the last one about living like no one is watching and speaking like everyone is listening. This is the best way to have an effect and contribute to making a positive change. Way too many people are busy putting up a show for others to see – the effect only being temporary.

  5. I am the master of my fate and the captain of my destiny.”

the quote ends with captain of my soul. not a Mandela quote, end of a poem called invictus
