2012 – Thank You!

Home » 2012 – Thank You!

The festive season is almost upon us and as things wind down towards the end of another year I would like to offer thanks to all you wonderful readers of this blog …

[box type=\”shadow\”]\”Develop an attitude of gratitude, and give thanks for everything that happens to you, knowing that every step forward is a step toward achieving something bigger and better than your current situation.\”

 – Brian Tracy

In the northern hemisphere this is a time for hunkering down, cosying up to a warm fire, indulging in some traditional hearty comfort food and sharing time with the ones you love.

In the southern hemisphere it\’s time to relax in the sun, frolick in the sea or swimming pool, wheel out the braai or barbeque and … share time with the ones you love.

A common theme at this time of year is to think about – and where possible connect with – those who play a meaningful role in your life, and those with whom you share a common bond.

I feel particularly blessed to be part of a wide network of people who really care about other people – life coaches, life coach trainees and others interested in experiencing and spreading the power of personal development.

Though geographically diverse we are nonetheless connected thanks to the Internet and facilities like this blog, our Facebook page, our online journal and our Forum.

This is a very special business to be in.

A living is made not through corrupt dealings, manipulative trades, selfish collusion, rip-off transactions or other shady means but through the development of inspiring, win-win relationships that contribute to the greater good of society.

Business interactions are overwhelmingly warm, sincere, trusting and constructive.

Consideration for others is genuine and uplifting rather than superficial and motivated purely by self interest.

It is my wish for 2013 that the activities of New Insights and all those who have been associated with us – whether that be as staff, coaches, trainee coaches or interested members of the public – will make a significant contribution to a happier, more fulfilled and more caring society.

We all deserve that.

I\’d like to take this opportunity to offer a big thank you to all regular (and not so regular) readers of Life Coaching Insights – now numbering in the thousands and growing.

In particular I\’d like to thank all those of you who have taken the time to offer your own comments on the blog posts. You are a powerful force of inspiration for me providing a reminder that we are all part of a connected family of people who are passionate about people.

I\’ll be taking a break from writing until after the New Year. In the meantime I\’d like to wish every reader a happy, restful, reflective and constructive holiday period.

Let\’s rest up a little so we are refreshed to take on the year ahead, ready to make a real and positive difference in the world!

  3. As I reflect on my “Coaching Journey” this evening, I would like to acknowledge all the very special people who have played a part in helping me to reach the point, at which I was brave enough to substitute working in an environment driven by human greed, with one in which I would be working with human potential. In 2010, Brenda Eckstein (an internationally qualified integral life coach), of Brenda Eckstein International, offered me the opportunity to be one of her “coachees” during her training. This was how my journey began as, not only was she fulfilling a dream that I had always had of going to a life coach, but it was during these sessions that I suddenly realised that I wanted to be a life coach too! But I knew I could afford neither the time nor the cost of doing the same course as she had done through UCT, so I put the dream on hold. Then I met up with Fiona McCrimmon (New Insights Life Coach), at a networking meeting, and she told me about the New Insights course. Thanks to the generosity of my husband (he offered to share the cost with me), I decided to give myself the course as a birthday present this year. My supervisor coach, Cherri Forsyth , has played a very supportive role in assisting me to achieve a large number of milestones, thus far, despite the heavy burden of continuing to work full time as a Senior Financial Advisor (without any administrative assistance at all!). The most valuable aspect of this whole journey has been the fact that I will have had first hand experience of exactly what my potential clients are going to go through, when they introduce positive lasting change into their lives to live their dream lives. I could not have asked for a better initiation in order to assist me in my quest to be an effective facilitator of change. I have gone back to the drawing board and I have redesigned my life. Having experienced both the pain and pleasure that accompanies this metamorphosis (just as a caterpillar escapes from a cocoon to become a beautiful butterfly), I feel equipped to pass the excitement of doing so, on to others! All they need is the desire to do so too! In closing, Bill, I would like to thank you for seizing the business opportunity called, “New Insights”, without which my dream would never be unfolding. Thank you for your leadership, support and empathy. It is really appreciated. It is truly wonderful to know that I shall be working in an environment where people REALLY do matter!
