Could YOU be a life coach?

Home » Could YOU be a life coach?

If you’re already a life coach, or busy with training, forgive me, this week’s post may hold little more than curiosity value for you!

However, if life coaching is something you have considered, but you’re yet to take the plunge, please be sure to read on as this post may help clarify your thinking.

What could be more important?

Let me start with a simple statement:

The world needs more good life coaches … period (as they say in the US).

Why?

Because life coaches are experts at helping people develop, grow, achieve, flourish and live their best lives. Frankly, what could be more important?

And, for the average human being – as you may have noticed – the world right now is hardly conducive to leading one’s best life. It is fraught with difficulty, distrust, conflict, confusion, disinformation, unpredictability and false promises.

Good, honest, caring, hardworking people like you and me are easy fodder for the small cabal of greedy, manipulative power brokers who flourish on the chaos, while we fear for our futures and those of our children.

A perfect antidote for an imperfect world

Life coaching offers a perfect antidote to our imperfect world.

Let me explain with an analogy that is appropriate to the time we are living in.

The best way to fight off the external threat of a rampant virus is to nurture, develop and fortify one’s internal immune system. This can be done through exercise, a healthy diet and supplementation with certain key vitamins and minerals.

A mask and good sanitary habits may be of some help in keeping the virus out … but once it has breached those flimsy physical defences, the damage that it will wreak is wholly dependent on your degree of inner strength, as represented by your immune system.

In the same way that we face threats to our physical health from various pollutants, carcinogens and diseases brought on by viruses, we face arguably even greater threats to our mental health and wellbeing from the constant change and increasing unpredictability that characterises life in the twenty-first century.

Just as one’s immune system can be boosted by exercise and feeding one’s body with the right amount of vital nutrients, so one’s mental and spiritual fortitude can be developed and strengthened through life coaching.

Self awareness, inner power and growth

At New Insights we have developed our own proprietary coaching model that is represented by the acronym, INSIGHTS, where, for example, the S stands for Self awareness, I stands for Inner power and G stands for Growth.

The New Insights life coaching system is transformational in nature. It seeks to re-acquaint individuals with the incredible, yet often mostly dormant talents, abilities, mental strength, creativity and resilience that they all have and that are needed, not just to cope … but to live life with purpose and abundance!

Unlimited demand for quality life coaches

Nowadays, almost anyone can benefit substantially from the services of a life coach. Frankly (and I admit I am biased) hiring a quality life coach should be a \’no-brainer\’ decision for just about anyone who wants to lead a better quality of life.

I use the qualifying adjective, ‘quality’ for a very important reason.

Many people, unfamiliar with the true power of life coaching and the broad range of tools and techniques that are employed, tend to underestimate what it takes to become a really good, effective life coach who has the knowledge and skill to consistently deliver excellent results for his or her clients.

With the market being unregulated, many people are easily tempted by the multitude of short and superficial life coaching courses on offer, with the result that the qualify of training that some ‘life coaches’ have received, leaves – let’s just say – ‘a lot to be desired’!

Life coaching specialists

At New Insights, we are life coaching specialists, dedicated to producing high quality life coaches who have the confidence, skill and ability to help people from all walks to develop greater personal freedom, enhance their self confidence and experience amazing personal growth.

What a wonderful, truly fulfilling and desperately needed career; one that can be pursued either full or part time, with very low start up and ongoing costs.

Take this short quiz

In case you are beginning to feel that you want to be part of the antidote to our increasingly crazy world, I offer you a short quiz below to test your readiness. You can also find this, and much, much more, in the free ebooks that we offer on our websites:

Please answer each of the following ten questions with a simple Yes or No (no maybes allowed!)

1. Would other people that you deal with describe you as an honest, ethical, self-aware person?

2. Do you have a genuine interest in helping others to achieve their goals and dreams?

3. Do people find it easy to relate to – and share their problems and aspirations with – you?

4. Are you a ‘generous’ listener, genuinely interested in what others have to share?

5. Do you find it easy to build rapport and make genuine connections with others when communicating with them?

6. Does the thought of inspiring others to achieve amazing things excite you?

7. In trying to understand difficult situations are you inclined to try and put yourself in the shoes of others?

8. Do you have the ability to be compassionate, yet firm with other people, ‘telling it like it is’ when you feel it’s needed to assist them?

9. Do you personally dream about a career filled with joy, happiness and, above all, meaning?

10. Do you enjoy ’visioning’ (mentally imagining the future) both on your own and with other people?

How did you go?

The greater the number of positive responses you have given, the more likely it is that, with the necessary training, you’d make a great life coach.

If you answered “YES” to the first two questions and at least four or more of the remaining questions then I suggest you should seriously consider training to become a life coach.

A very modest investment

The investment required, at least as far as New Insights is concerned, is very modest when compared with the value that you will derive, not only from the career opportunity that it will unlock but from the significant personal growth and development you will experience.

  2. Thank you, Bill. My decision in 2011 to become a New Insights Pro Life Coach, is one of the best I have ever made. As I read each question, my answers confirmed that I really am living my true purpose. Thank you for this very inspiring description of what, in my view, is the greatest profession on earth.
